Serendipity
Feb. 20th, 2011 10:43 pmSo one of the cable channels has been playing a HOUSE marathon lately. And I've watched quite a few of the episodes. Some of them more than once, including "Private Lives", in which a dedicated blogger gets mysteriously ill and falls into House's clutches.
The episode opens with said blogger sitting in the dark typing away on her computer. There's a piece of music playing over this scene--just an instrumental vamp--that I liked. So I looked it up on the episodes' IMDB page. It's "Chasing Pirates" by Norah Jones.
I found the music video for it.
Shades of Monty Python's "Crimson Permanent Assurance"!
And the short-haired, dark haired, dark eyed Norah Jones is smokingly hot in this video. (As in, she's tied with Jemima Rooper, as my number one celebrity crush now.) Plus, I like the whole song. I gather from comments on the Youtube site and elsewhere that music fans weren't terribly impressed by it.
Eh. _I_ like it, and that's what ultimately matters. I'm horribly out of touch with modern music, and always have been. My favorite band is still Oingo Boingo, who haven't been a band in years. When I listen to music on the radio, or on cable, it's mostly the 70s or 80s. So who cares if nobody else likes this one? I like it.
