It's been a long week
Dec. 6th, 2003 12:46 amand I'm glad the weekend is here. Twoson has been home sick all week (missed the entire week of school) with stomach pain, nausea and vomiting. I took him to the doctor and she says it's a virus and that she's seen it a lot lately.
snippy and I were concerned that he might be suffering from gastritis, which his brother has had trouble with. But Doc says no. He seems better now, but he's seemed better before only to experience more symptoms.
We shall see.
snippy has been feeling poorly too. Not sick, but seriously stressed out. Hard labor packing and unpacking for her office move to a new building, anxiety over the move itself, anxiety over finding a new parking situation now that her office is moved (it has to be somewhere between our two workplaces), dealing with a sick kid, etc. She's tired and overwrought.
And so am I, for that matter. Taking care of Twoson, taking care of her, taking care of household chores. Cue Madeleine Kahn's character in Blazing Saddles: "I'm tired...."
On the other hand, we took the afternoon off yesterday for my office holiday party. Had lunch at a local McMenamin's.
snippy had a couple of beers, and was relaxed and happy as we watched a screening of Pirates of the Caribbean. Much fun. Then the two of us drove to the mall to pick up our pre-ordered DVD of Pirates before heading home.
So the weekend is here. That means sleeping in tomorrow morning for Yours Truly, most likely followed by our weekly pilgrimage to Popeye's for lunch, maybe a trip to the game store, then the weekly grocery shopping (on Saturday rather than Sunday because--oh joy!--
snippy has to work Sunday. Laundry and other household chores for me on Sunday.
We'll have friends over tomorrow night for our weekly gaming night. No role-playing again this week. More boardgames or card games. But fun.
We shall see.
