Return of Son of The Story So Far

Dad had his surgery yesterday morning. This morning he's sitting up (somewhat), eating and generally looking pretty good. At least when he hasn't gone for a brief walk to the entrance of the Cardiac Recovery department and back again. It's not far, but when you've been as traumatized as open heart surgery leaves you, that's an exhausting feat. He's tired now (it's about 4 p.m. as I write this). He'll sleep, I expect...if they let him. He hasn't lacked for attention, I tell you what!

They may move him to a room later today. Or not. We'll see. There's plenty of post-operative instruction and therapy in his future, not surprisingly. But still, all in all, dad seems to be doing very well--for which I am very thankful.
