Ah, life in the big city
Feb. 16th, 2005 09:13 amWalking to work from the parking garage this morning, I come around a corner and see a police car idling by the curb with it's lights flashing. Nobody in side. As I walk closer I see a bicycle cop standing straddling his bike just inside the entrance to a big public parking garage. A little closer and I see a second bicycle cop, and then a cop without a bike standing with them (presumably the driver of the car). Then I'm walking past the entrance to the garage and there's a young man in his twenties standing there facing the cops.
"I'm not on parole, I'm not on probation--and I haven't been for over a year!" he's insisting quite firmly.
And I walk on, and wonder what that was all about.
