Smallville (WB) -- Lana Lang demonstrates superhuman healing powers as she recovers from multiple fractures (compound? not sure) of her leg in short order, with brief cliched overcoming the pain efforts. Lex is driven further into madness by his father. Clark and Lex demonstrate immense slashy goodness, ending with a 20 second hug complete with expression of ultimate contentment on Lex's face. Angel (WB) -- This was The Harmony Episode (tm). A lackluster effort overall, with cliches aplenty. Spike appears in small doses and provides a bit of real acting. Fred...not so much. Angel is a humorless jerk. Mercedes McNab (Harmony) is lovely to look at (and I enjoyed the eye candy very much, thank you), but her character can't carry a whole episode. Summary: Mutant Enemy still don't know what they're doing.
Stargate: SG-1 (Sci Fi) -- Someone on the alt.tv.stargate-sg1 usenet group summed it up most succinctly. "The worst Star Trek episode ever written." 'Nuff said.
ER (NBC) -- The adventures of the Indian medical student/intern (whatever the hell she is) in the NICU, or yet another "very special episode" in which we all have our hearts warmed by a "miracle baby's" fight for life. Sorry, I tuned in to watch ER, not NICU. Besides, I'm mostly interested in the characters down in the ER. I watched about 15 minutes, then turned it off. Summary: I just couldn't bring myself to care.
