So
snippy and I crawled out of bed at 10 and 11 (her at 10, me at 11 when she woke me up so we could go to lunch). We were out late last night, and so I was rather slow-moving, but eventually we left the house and drove up to Popeye's (love that fried chicken!) to get lunch. That's pretty much our standard Saturday lunch habit these days.
Then it was off to the mall, where
snippy made a beeline to the Disney store, while I visited the computer games store. Max Payne 2 is out now. I enjoyed the first game, and it would have some replay value if the goddamn thing would run (or even load from the CD) on my computer any longer. But it won't. Not since I loaded Planetside for Twoson. Conflicting DirectX requirements I suspect. And anyhow, Max Payne 2 is a new game and they want $50 for it.
I. Think. Not.
snippy accuses me of suffering "sticker shock" frequently, and often she's right. I'm not shocked by the price, but I have very seldom bought any new computer game until it's been out for a while and I've read lots of reviews to get a sense of how it's been received and what people like (or don't like) about it, and the price has come down. So I might buy it eventually, but not anytime soon.
Then it was off to the video store, where I bought Rio Bravo, the extended version of The Two Towers and
snippy bought Guys and Dolls. We also pre-ordered Pirates of the Caribbean.
Then we hit the game store, where she bought a set of six-sided dice, I bought other stuff (gifts, so no details), and Knights of the Dinner Table. Then home.
And now we're off to dinner with friends.
