Email Suckitude: The Sequel
Jul. 22nd, 2006 01:07 amHaving complained about my Gemini email/news client last night, I think it's only fair to say that it's working just fine again--thanks to the helpful support team at Intelliget.
I sent an email to support@intellegit.com last night describing the problem. This morning I had a reply waiting for me offering some suggested fixes and a suggestion that if they didn't work to log the attempt to send my mail and forward that to them. I tried them this evening after work. None of the suggestions worked, so I forwarded the log. I just now received a second reply with another suggested fix based on the logs.
I tried it and Gemini is working perfectly again. So I'm very pleased by the speed, friendliness and usefulness of the support I received. So if you're looking for a mail/news client, I can happily recommend Intellegit's Gemini software. The program works well and the support is very good.
Oh, the problem? The mail server was expecting an encrypted communication and wasn't getting it. But it was easy enough to change the settings in Gemini so it encrypted the outgoing mail. I don't know if Pacifier changed their set-up, whether I failed to create the proper settings in Gemini (though I had no such trouble with Thunderbird last night), or whether it was a bug in the software. Whatever the cause, it's fixed.
