Me? I went to the dentist. Took Twoson for an 8:15 a.m. orthodontia visit, and had my own close encounter of the dental kind at 9 a.m.
First one in many years, I'm embarrassed to say. (Hey, a pre-existing--and well-founded--fear of needles combined with an exquisitely painful encounter with needles at the hands of a butcher of a dentist many years ago will do that.)
Nonetheless, a couple of months ago I girded my loins and made an appointment. Today I went in, filled out the new patient paperwork, had some x-rays of my teeth taken, and had an exam. That's the easy part--no needles in sight, and no expectation of encountering one. No cavities! Go me! Nonetheless, I need a filling.
How's that, you ask? I have a notch in my gum at one tooth and some abrasion of the tooth enamel. That needs fixing. Which will involve some anaesthetic. Which may involve a shot.
That'll be fun. But it won't happen til March, so in the meantime, putting it out my mind works for me.
