sinanju | Gaaaaaaaaah!

I'm bored.
I'm tired.
I'm restless.
I'm cranky.
I'm in that state which, in an infant, would result in an inconsolable crying jag because he can't express himself any other way and has no compunctions about whinging endlessly because he is, after all, only an infant.

I got home today and thought about going out for a run. But I was restless and tired already, so I went into the bedroom to lie down and think about it in the breeze from the fan. And it was like what little energy I had in me ran out all over the bed and the floor. I lay there drowsing and kinda-sorta dreaming until my Dancing Feet (tm) drove me out of bed. I blew off running for tonight. Maybe tomorrow. (I know that if I did go running, it might help, but...just can't do it. Not tonight.)

I had some dinner (cooked by Twoson, no less!), sat at my computer unhappily discovering that nobody had written any sparkling new material for me to peruse while I lay about. You slackers! Entertain me, damn it!

Went for a walk with my sweetie. It's a bit cooler outside than in, but mostly it was just to get us out of the house--she's feeling much the same way. Bleah. Can't muster the enthusiasm to write any fiction (one of the things I thought about doing). Don't care about my usual Friday night tv (Stargate, BSG, the usual). Tomorrow

snippy and I will go to a party at some friends' house--an annual collective birthday party for a bunch of friends all born in August. The August Babies Birthday Bash, they call it. That'll be fun.

And next weekend we're going to CascadiaCon. That should be lots of fun too. In the meantime, I'll be restless and bored and a tiny bit cranky. But this too shall pass.

*Dancing Feet: A syndrome suffered by nightowls (well, this nightowl anyhow) when they try to nap when not driven to it by utter physical exhaustion or prolonged sleep deprivation. I can lie down for a while, but eventually I grow uncomfortable in my current position, so I shift my legs/feet around. It helps--briefly. Then I move them again. And again and again until I'm all but dancing in place. At which point I get up because sleep is no longer an a remote dream.
