Sunday notes

sinanjuDrove Twoson down to the halfway point to hand him off to his dad this afternoon. The trip down I-5 was painfully slow. The so-called "fast lane" was bumper to bumper all the way, with lighter traffic in the other lanes, but not so light that trying to skate around it was worthwhile. I attribute the congestion to people driving home after the holiday weekend. I attribute the slowness to assholes who think that driving 1 mph over the speed limit entitles them to squat in the fast lane come hell or high water, no matter how many cars pile up behind them.
The trip back went faster, mostly thanks to the police. As I was maneuvering to the front of a pack of slowpokes, a state police vehicle pulled onto the highway from the central median (I think he'd just turned around). So I pulled into the far right lane and followed him at a discreet distance. He was doing about 75 and the assholes who hog the left lane ('cause they're doing 66, dammit!) were getting out of his way, so it was clear sailing most of the way home It was very handy.
I stopped at the Century 16 theatre complex, intending to see The Incredibles again. Alas, the first available showing wasn't for over an hour, so I bagged that idea and went home.
I got home just in time to kiss Snippy goodbye before she left for the afternoon and evening. So I watched some tv, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher (will we ever finish the Thanksgiving clean-up?), and I'm currently halfway thru my regular Sunday chore (laundry).
Currently watching Galaxy Quest on TBS.
