RTFM Time, I guess...
Mar. 21st, 2004 08:00 pmAs of about 5 p.m. PST today, I am the proud owner of a dual boot Win98SE/Suse 9.0 computer. I bought a copy of Suse 9.0 Personal edition at CompUSA on Saturday and I installed it today. The installation went without a hitch. The program partitioned my existing 40GB hard drive, resized Windows and installed Suse. Then it detected all my installed hardware and tested the cable modem connection by downloading and installing a bunch of updates. So far, I only have two complaints.
1. I can't use the mouse wheel with any of the Suse software. I don't know why.
2. I downloaded a copy of LogJam, a Linux-based client for LiveJournal which is supposed to work with my new software. But damned if I can figure out how to install it. I can look at all the directories in the folder, but I can't find any one-click "install now" buttons. So I guess it's time to read the fucking manual...
Update: Yep. RTFM. I've found out how to make the mousewheel work. Still trying to figure out how I install new software, though.
