This is, of course, pure slander. While Steurgon's Law applies to fanfic as much as to everything else, the fact is that a lot of fanfic is damn good. Sturgeon's Law says that it would have to be. The 10% of fanfic that isn't crap must encompass a huge volume of fiction, giving the gigabytes and gigabytes of fanfic that exist.
