Yeah. I'm just bursting with ambition. And I'm renowned for my cute personality and extroverted ways.
Not.
In other news, I'm into week 3 of my nine week Couch Potato to 5K program. Went running twice so far this week. One more to go, probably Saturday.
Some days my calves really burn when I'm pounding the pavement. Sometimes they don't. No discernable pattern so far. I've noticed that I'm moving a little faster each day, though I'm not trying to. I walk and run alternately for fixed periods (more running each week) and I'm a little farther along my route each day at the timepoints according to my stopwatch.
My hamstrings are tight as guitar strings. I've always been tight through my hips and the backs of my legs, but it hasn't gotten any better as I've gotten older and now I've discovered that if I don't do some serious stretching after my runs, it only gets worse. On Tuesday I stretched. No problem. Yesterday I didn't. Today I'm hobbling around like C3PO and my lower back is stiff too. That'll learn me--no sitting down at my computer as soon as I get back to the house.
Stretch, damn me! Streeeeeeeeeeeeetch!
Nonetheless, I'm pleased with my progress. I'm not one of those mythical 20% who get an endorphin rush from exercise, but I really do like being able to feel the difference in my endurance from getting back into running.
