Damn the WB to Hell! To HELL!

In a big "fuck you" to Tivo users everywhere, they cunningly arranged for the Gilmore girls season finale to run long without any warning.  snippy and I were incensed when the recording stopped abruptly before the end of the episode.  Those rat-bastards!

snippy was netsurfing shortly thereafter and noted that quite a few folk on her friends list were likewise complaining about this.  Which, in its way, warmed my heart--because it means all those people also make use of Tivo and that's a stake in the heart of network television executives.  Yay!  Go technology!

The networks are getting a little spiteful revenge, but they're not doing themselves any favors with this kind shit.  The more they pull crap like this, the more they drive people to pick up a Tivo and surf merrily past their commercials and watch shows whenever the hell they feel like it rather than on the networks' schedules (which can't be doing the crappy shows that get scheduled after blockbusters any good).

My lovely and talented wife also mentioned that she's seen commentary from several people that they don't watch new tv at all anymore--they wait and buy shows when they come out on DVD.  I can imagine why--I'm this close (imagine my thumb and forefinger very close together) to doing the same.  I hate those goddamned ads that splash, splatter, roll, waver, flicker, bounce and strobe during the show, occupying a good quarter--or more!--of the screen.

And you know what?  When we watch our DVD collections of The West Wing, Firefly, Gilmore girls, Buffy and so forth...we don't have to put up with that shit!

Those stupid bastards are eating the seed corn, if you ask me.
