sinanju: The Shadow (Morbo)
The lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] snippy and I watched the season finale of West Wing tonight and really enjoyed it. We recorded it on our DVR as usual and wanted to keep it for watching again later. So I went into the options screen where you can set how long you want to save something.

Or, of course, you can tell the DVR to delete it.

I'm sure nobody has to guess what I did.

That's right. I deleted the goddamned thing. And there's no fucking "undelete" option either. I felt like a major fucking idiot--and angry. At myself mostly, but also at the unhelpful machines. I still feel dumb, but the desire to beat the DVR and TV into scrap has passed.

Why the hell _doesn't_ it have an undelete option? It's a goddamn computer. It's not like it couldn't be done. But...noooooo.

In other news, Snippy is really enjoying her math class and homework. The writing class...not so much. But she's really getting a kick out of working on her algebra homework. It's nice to see her having so much fun (that anyone could find doing math fun is an alien concept, but she likes it so I'm glad for her).

She has class again tomorrow evening, so I'll be on my own after work. I'd thought about renting more of the Dead Like Me first season and watching it--I saw the two hour pilot last week--but money's a little tight this week what with tuition and books and fancy-schmancy graphing calculators.

So I'll probably watch a couple of episodes of Firefly instead, since I own that. That'll be fun. When I bought the DVD set, I watched the pilot and a couple of the episodes that aired on Fox way back when, and all the unaired episodes. But I didn't watch all of them yet. So there's a few I know I've seen but mostly don't remember, so there'll be entertaining action and witty dialogue to enjoy.
