Phone troubles
Jan. 19th, 2008 07:16 pmIf you try to call me and you get a busy signal, it's not because I'm on the phone. The phone isn't working. When I pick up the handset I hear what sounds like an open line, but there's nobody there. I've tried disconnecting both phones, the answering machine, even the Tivo (which is plugged into a phone line so it can call home like E.T.). None of it makes any difference.
If I call the landline on my cell phone, I get a busy signal.
Something is screwed up. So I finally called Qwest and put in a service request. They're going to send someone out tomorrow to check into it. If the problem is the outside line, they'll fix it. If it's not the outside line, if they determine its a problem with the wiring inside the house, we get zapped with $80 for a service call even though they won't do anything about it. Weeeeee!
In the mean time, if you want to reach me--call my cell phone.
