Heroes: Wow.  Nathan clearly bought his Flight with the Megascale advantage.  <--obligatory CHAMPIONS RPG reference.

It sure looked like he went supersonic, didn't it?  Why else the "smoke ring" effect?  Makes me wonder how/why he didn't lose his pajama bottoms.  (Okay, I know why: Network Standards).  I also wonder if HRG (Horn Rimmed Glasses Guy) and his tame mentalist knew Nathan could fly.  Was that the surprise, or was it that he didn't immediately succumb to the guy's mental powers?

Nathan didn't seem terribly upset to learn that he was on film.  He seemed to take it as proof that they needed him badly--hence the renegotiation of the campaign contributions.  "Gimme twice as much and you'll have a willing ally, not a pawn," is the vibe I got off of him.

Clare is regretting what she did?  I suppose it's not unreasonable for her character, but I'm a lot harsher than she is.  Creep had it coming.  Not that he'll remember.  Heh.  Though I wonder how much of Daddy's orders to "hollow him out" was outraged father and how much was making sure nobody else knows about Clare's talents.  Two bird with one stone, I suspect.

Poor Matt.  As someone elsewhere said, Matt seems destined to the Peter Parker of this crowd--always getting the short end of the stick and having everyone view his behavior in the worst possible light.  When his wife finds out he can (and was) reading her mind, I don't think she's going to think it was charming.  Creepy, more like.  It won't go well.

It's official.  Peter can access the powers of others if he hangs around them.  And he knows it now.  He can even access them when the other person can't.  Isaac seems to need to shoot up to access his powers;  Peter had no such limitation.  Which means the drugs are probably just a crutch.  Wonder if Isaac will work that out?

I suspect that Nikki has her powers all the time, not just during her split personality blackouts but, like Isaac, can't--yet--access them at will.  Looks like Bad Nikki may be tutoring Good Nikki next episode, though.  So that may change.

So Silar (Sylar?) intends to eat Clare's brain.  Small wonder, if he gains the powers of those whose brains he consumes.  Super-regeneration and resurrection powers would make him a very effective supervillain, eh?  So far it looks already like he can freeze people, use TK (or magnetic control) on inanimate objects and quite possibly fly.  Adding Clare's powers to his repetoire would be a very bad thing for everyone else.

Generally, I didn't notice any idiot plot moments, which I was happy about.  The characters all acted intelligently, given what they know and what they want, which is all I ask of people telling me stories.

Studio 60: Eh.  I was excited to sit down and watch this last night, but...I didn't find it nearly as entertaining or exciting as earlier episodes.  I'm not sure why.  I just didn't.  I hope for better in--TWO WEEKS?  What?  Four whole episodes to kick off the season and they're ALREADY taking a break?  Jeez.

I've had questions about the Syler figure and the actual spelling of said creepy name. Because I don't think we've seen it the way he spells it. We don't know if it's his real name, or if it's just what he's calling himself. I've flirted with the idea that perhaps is PSIler, but that's just me being a word geek and not wanting to assume that something looks like it sounds. Still, given that he seems to like removing brains, I have to wonder.

Then, of course, there are the two big questions (in my mind, anyway): who is the HRG working for (the gov't? a corporation? some shadowy terrorist group)? And who is planning on blowing up NYC? Pondering these two things makes me antsy, which is a good thing because it means I'm enjoying myself :-)

Good questions. I don't grok HRG's thinking. He took Nathan from his bed; presumably he could have had his tame mentalist put Nathan's lights out before they even moved him. Why didn't he? And that escape--did they not know he could fly, or did they think TM could put him to sleep before he escaped?

We haven't seen HRG do anything really, really evil. Kidnapping, yeah--but he might think of it as "arresting." And having TM erase peoples' memories, in one case to preserve secrecy, in the other to punish the guy who attacked his daughter AND erase whatever knowledge he had of Clare's healing abilities. HRG might think of himself as one of the good guys, and might even be--albeit of the "ruthless secret agent" type. But probably not.

As for the nuke--I have no idea. I don't think we have anywhere near enough information to do anything but make wild guesses.

It might be natural progression, but Telepathic Cop serems more sensitive now, receiving more, and more often. Did Clare's dad's guy turn up the sensitivity?

I suppose it's possible that Tame Mentalist (TM) made Matt more sensitive. But I suspect that Matt just has trouble dealing with lots of strong reactions--as to a guy waving a gun around in a convenience store. (Matt really should have known better; put the gun in your pocket ASAP and leave it there.)
