I accuse my parents! Between minimizing our southern Virginia accents and all the years I spent doing radio, there's not much left of my southern accent. Or rather--to judge by the graph--there is, but it's matched by more northerly speech patterns. (Though I'm told that the Virginia accent creeps out when I'm tired or have just talked to my parents on the phone.)
