Baaaaaaa! (Meme Alert)
Mar. 24th, 2004 08:15 pmMy journal is called _____ because _____.
My subtitle is _____ because _____.
My friends page is called _____ because _____.
My username is ____ because _____.
My journal is called Ad Hominem! because a friend and I who once participated in political steel-cage deathmatches on usenet with long-forgotten dimwit opponents long ago decided that it would be a great title for a zine or a journal.
My subtitle is non-existent.
My friends page is called The Peanut Gallery, because the peanut gallery is where the rabble sit--the cheap seats. And because "that's enough out of the peanut gallery!" is a refrain I heard more than a few times as a kid, and the meaning was plain.
My username is sinanju because I'm a fan of the Destroyer novels, which feature Remo Williams and Chiun, Masters of Sinanju, the ancient Korean martial art which is as the sun compared to the feeble candles that are all other martial arts. Plus, when I set up my first ISP account long years ago I needed a username and I didn't want something boring or mundane like, you know, my name. So I chose something almost unique--there are very few other people out there using it or anything like it.
