X-Men 2 this weekend!

I really liked X-Men when it came out a couple (three?) years ago. And I still really like it. It's a great movie. When I first heard that it was in production, I feared the worst. Marvel had a track record of producing cheap, ultra-suck-ass movies. But the buzz I heard as the movie's premiere approached was actually, you know, good.

And the movie more than lived up to its billing. And the new X-Men movie, by all reports, is at least as good as its predecessor--and perhaps even better. And I may see it tomorrow night. And if not Friday, then definitely on Saturday.

Solitude

I'm alone in the house. Snippy is presumably on her way back from dropping off The Boy to visit with his dad and brother this weekend. And tomorrow morning, she'll be whisked off by a friend to visit still another friend for the weekend. So I'll awake to an empty house. I'm giddy with delight.

Well...not really. But it will be nice to have most of a weekend to myself. To come and go as I please, when I please, where I please. No responsibilities. Just like the days when I was a bachelor. Of course, I was a lonely bachelor, and nowhere near as happy as I am now, despite all the work that comes with a wife and child. So it'll be good to have the weekend to myself--but it'll be even better when my sweetie comes home again.
