Son of The Story So Far
Aug. 19th, 2007 06:14 pmDad's awake (or he was an hour ago when I saw him). They've removed the breathing tube, though he's on oxygen. He's not supposed to talk too much, though of course--being who he is--he'll talk your ear off if you let him. (And by "let him", of course, I mean, "don't forcibly restrain him.")
But there's no evidence of a stroke suffered as a result of the operation. Which is not to say that it couldn't still happen, but it gets less likely with every passing moment.
My brothers have both gone home now. Mom, my sister and I are staying in the hotel again tonight and we'll be at the hospital all day tomorrow. Once dad's been moved from Coronary Recovery to a regular room, he won't have VIP status (he's the only patient IN Coronary Recovery tonight), so we'll be hanging around to wait on him hand and foot. Later in the week my brothers will be back when needed to continue the waiting or to help get him settled at home when they finally release him.
