Gathering Slack
Jun. 6th, 2003 11:31 amFriday morning and I'm at home instead of at work. Woo-hoo!
We're moving offices within the building at my place of employment. Which means that I have no desk, no computer, no phone; all my files are packed up for the move. Which means that when I got to work this morning, after a brief consultation with one person about a list of email addresses I gave him (of which 96 at last count had kicked back a "message undeliverable" response from the mail system), I was told I could leave for the day.
Why we're spending yesterday and today on the move instead of having it occur on the weekend, when we're not there anyhow, is beyond me. I can only assume that the movers (and electricians and whatnot) would have cost loads more money working on the weekend than on Thursday and Friday.
