Apparently, there's been a rumor that Dumbledore dies in the newest Harry Potter novel. I have no idea whether this is true. Neither does the Guardian, but that didn't stop them from publishing a competition to write your own version of how might it happen...in the style of a favorite author (or maybe just one you think would be funny).

He DOES have to die in this or the next, since the classic "oh dear god he's a walking dead man line" has been being said in every book: "As long as Dumbledore's around you're safe, Harry..."

Yeah...it sure sounds like Dumbledore has a bullseye painted on his back.
